    POSITION SUMMARY

    This position is responsible for assisting clinicians and nursing staff in providing medical care, as well as, implementing and evaluating direct patient care. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment and skills to provide an excellent patient experience.

    CORE FUNCTIONS

    1. Prepares patient for exam and treatment by taking and recording vital signs, symptoms and other necessary measurements and recording chief complaint; documents pain scores as appropriate.     Hold a current, registered nurse (RN) license that is active and non-encumbered, and provide documentation of a minimum of one year (1500 hours) working as an RN providing direct patient care in any setting AND, one of the following:Minimum one-year (1500 hours) experience supervising nursing assistants.Minimum one-year (1500 hours) experience teaching adults as a faculty member or clinical educator. * Completion of a 40-hour education program in adult teaching and learning concepts that awarded continuing education credit by an accredited organization.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Duties require physical effort in working with moderate (up to 50 lbs). Duties performed causes light fatigue of eyes, fingers, or other faculties due to long periods of standing, sitting, repetitive motion and viewing a monitor. Some specialized faculty positions may require the lifting of heavier weights although lifting may be assisted.

    INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

    Demonstrate the willingness as well as the capacity to cooperate in a professional and courteous manner with other college employees and students. Share knowledge and contribute to helping others collegially while supporting the mission of the college.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:
    This position is performed in a classroom and/or lab skills area. These areas may have occasional distractions such as noise, interruptions, or congested work areas with exposure to some disagreeable elements. The position requires transportation to variety of clinical nursing facilities.
